The internet \u00a0 being what it is however people contact you out of the blue with questions and with help. That was the case when Gareth Hughes of St. Albans contacted me. Sadly I could not help him with the questions he asked me but the help he gave me set me on the way to finally find out more.<\/p>\n<p>It appears that Walter ended up in Mesopotamia, present day\u00a0 Iraq where he served with the military police until his death in 1921.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/vandebilt.co.uk\/history\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/baghdad-northgate-cemetery.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-777\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-777\" src=\"http:\/\/vandebilt.co.uk\/history\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/baghdad-northgate-cemetery-300x187.jpg\" alt=\"baghdad northgate cemetery\" width=\"496\" height=\"309\" srcset=\"http:\/\/vandebilt.co.uk\/history\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/baghdad-northgate-cemetery-300x187.jpg 300w, http:\/\/vandebilt.co.uk\/history\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/baghdad-northgate-cemetery.jpg 620w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 496px) 100vw, 496px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Walter Webb was buried at the Northgate cemetery in Baghdad, I have not been able to find out the exact co-ordinates of his grave.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Having found out all this I amended the list of High Wych WW1 fallen soldiers.
